Meet me halfway

England walked hurriedly through the town, asking a local for the time. If I don't hurry down to the river, I'll be late! His plane to Asia had arrived late already and he was getting nervous. What if she leaves because she thinks I'm not coming? He sighed and smiled when he finally saw the river. He followed the path down and saw Beijing waiting for him. He wasted no time going to greet her, "Beijing?"

England smiled and said, "We can start, if you'd like." He looked out across the river, "It really is beautiful. It's so nice and clear here... There's far too much pollution in my country." He said sadly, glancing over at her, "You must love it here."

rShe started walking, slowly. She laughed a little at his saying that is was 'beautiful, nice and clear.' [[I'M PRETTY SURE AT ONE POINT A FEW YEARS AGO, CHINA WAS CELEBRATING WITH TAI CHI EXERCISES THAT THEY WERE THE MOST POLLUTED COUNTRY OR SOMETHING.]] "Yeah, I do love it here. But I'd like to see other places, too, sometimes. Do you like where you live?" she asked.

(They are, but there are still areas where the scenery is wonderful~)
England looked around at the scenery around him, "Yes, I do love my country very much. London is wonderful, in its own way. Full of life and always bustling. It's crowded but sometimes it's nice to sit on a bench and watch all the different kinds of people that pass by. It's pretty diverse now a days..."

"That must be nice," she replied. "I'd like to see London some time." [[lol if i said Big Ben...pffft]] "..." she didn't really know what to say to him now. She really did want to see London though, but she really didn't seem too excited...from what she thouhgt about her speech. Was he still interested in her if she had a little trouble showing emotions?

England looked around, clearing his throat, "So-sorry... I'm not that great with this... I find it hard to know what to say in these situations..." He paused, "I'm not good at expressing these emotions... but," He stopped again, "I /am/ extremely happy to be here with you right now." He looked away, blushing and grabbed her hand, trying to seem nonchalant.

"...I agree," She felt relieved that he didn't mind her passiveness ((? wording?]] She blushed when he grabbed her hand. ba-dmp ba-dmp Be still, my beating heart... she thought, her face burning red. "...I feel the same way, actually," she murmured, looking up shyly at him. The corners of her lips twitched, starting to smile, but ultimately, her face felt too numb from blushing, too shy, to smile at him. She instead, not taking her eyes off of him for that one second, gave his hand a squeezed and averted her eyes.

England glanced her way out of the corner of his eyes, squeezing back. "S-so..." He cleared his throat again, "What's the rest of your family like? I'm afraid I don't have much time for mingling during world meetings and only talk to them when necessary..." He blushed again, hoping the conversation would pick up.

England tilted his head back and laughed, nodding, "Yes, I understand. I've had the... unique pleasure of fighting side by side with China during the Great Wars... and I understand what you mean. My family is much the same. Alfred- America that is- is a different brand of 'what-you-see-is-what-you-get' if you get my meaning." He looked over at Beijing and shook his head, "And there's my brothers... Scotland, Wales and Ireland... Don't even get me started on them."

England laughed with her, "You know they used to hold me out over the water with a pole? Mine may not be touchy feel-y, but they weren't exactly heart-warming." He laughed harder, happy they were hitting it off so well. He looked over at her laughing. She's so pretty... and her laugh is really beautiful too... I'm sure she'd be a good singer... Her voice sounds lovely. I hope she'll laugh like this often...

England smiled at her warmly, "Yes, well, it did make me a little more paranoid than most I'll say. Always thinking of another's ulterior motives... but for the most part, I knew they were just being bothersome like older brothers are supposed to be." He gave a dry chuckle. "You know what I mean, right?"

England nodded, still smiling, though it was softer now, "Yeah... brothers have a way of making you love and hate them at the same time. They come when you need them, then they turn around and push you. It's to make you stronger though. In their eyes, it's okay if they're the ones doing it. But if anyone else tries, then that person had better have a damn good explanation." He stopped, blushing, "Sorry for rambling... I've been on both sides of that fence you see, being both the younger brother growing up and then raising America as my little brother..."

"Mm! I feel the same about them. You don't have to apologize actually6, it's interestinwg to hear about YOUR family. I haven't really asked you a lot of questionsw so it's fine. That's what getting to know people is, right?" she probably didn't get that right but oh well.

England nods, "You're right... I just don't want to bore you." He blushed and glanced at her shyly, "I'm not exactly the most interesting country... I haven't been since... probably the America Revolution." He looks thoughtful, "My most exciting days--in my opinion-- were my pirate days... Though I wasn't known for being a gentleman back then." He laughed softly.

England looked up, thinking, "Hmm, well... I wasn't a great person. I was a thief and a murderer... I cut down anything that stood in my way. I was quite ruthless, really. I'm not Spain ever fully forgave me for everything I did to him back then." England looked sheepish.

[[Talkin' bout the Spanish Armada?]] "Hm. I really can't imagine you that way," she shook her head. "Still. Hard to believe. You must've had one or two women, even with that personality, I'm sure." Although...that was probably not in the best taste. Didn't sound right, probably might offend him, actually. "Well...from what I know of the man, he's a pretty laid-back person. Things like that don't go away, but you can't not forgive someone for something someone did before they changed for the better...or maybe you can," she looked at him, studying his expression to see if that wasn't right to say. "You changed, and he probably did, too."

England chuckled, blushing about her comment on women, "Well... yes... most pirates at the time would have many one night stands. Nothing past that though..." He explained, "And as for people changing... It was just a rebellious stage of mine... lashing out at anyone who denied me what I wanted. It wasn't my best moment when it comes to a lovable personality... and sometimes that scares me because I still feel like he and I are one and the same still. Spain... never really changes..." England laughed.
