A Date at the Beach

Maria looked around the beach, biting her lip as she glanced back at the print out of the map that Kasem sent her three days ago. "I hope I'm not lost......why must I suck at reading maps!" She sighed angrily and kicked at the sand. Maria shifted the bag of fruits that she carried in her arms before she continued to walk again. Maria pouted and kept grumbling about her poor sense of direction when she saw a figure in the distance. 'Please let it be him!' Taking a deep breath she called out to him. "Hola, are you Kasem?"

Kasem parked his scooter in the second slot away from the beach. He was really excited and couldn't wait to meet his date in person. He took his helmet off and walked around to the back of his scooter where he kept the food he wanted to bring. He had made Pad-Thai noodles and some cookies. He really hoped that she'd like the food, he had spent almost three days on it. The first day to plan what he was going to make and the next two gathering the ingredients and preparing the food. He smiled as he took out a warm plastic container designed to keep the heat of the food in and a bag of cookies. He set the things down on the ground so he could take out a towel and place his helmet in the trunk. After closing the trunk he picked up the food and began walking toward the beach.

The food wasn't too heavy, but he could feel the heat from the Noodles through his plain white buttondown shirt. He closed one eye at the pain but kept one so that he could see where he was going. He then saw a young girl talking to a man in the distance. She seemed to match the picture he saw on the website. Kasem blushed at the sight of her. "She's so cute ana~ what will I even say to her?" Kasem walked toward the girl post haste and laughed as she was signaling another man who happened to look a lot like him. The man smiled and laughed as Kasem approached and excused himself with a bow. Kasem smiled at the girl. "Hello I am actually Kasem ana~ haha and this means you must be Maria correct?" Kasem was so happy that that random guy was there or else he wouldn't have had the nerve to talk to Maria. "Shes so pretty ana~ I've never seen a girl so good looking."

Maria turn red when she realized the man she had just called out to wasnt Kasem, she turned to the real Kansem and blushed more. 'Great going Maria, mix up your increibly handsom date with some random guy! Now he thinks your an idiota!' She smiled abit "S-si, m-me llamo Maria, a-and I'm sorry for mixing you up with that guy....." She sighed trying to calm herself "H-he's not a-as..um..g-guapo a-as you..." She bit her lip and looked down holding the bag she was holding close to her chest.

Kasem laughed as the girl explained herself. Not only was she cute as in looks but she was also cute in her personality also. He smiled softly and readjusted the things he was carrying in his arms. "Haha no no It is quite alright ana~" Kasem then blushed when the girl called him handsome. He smiled and nervously said. " Ha ha Really ana~? You are quite pretty yourself. While I was over there watching you talk to the man. I was hoping to myself that you were my date ana~." Kasem shuffled his feet in the hot sand and dug them even deeper. The heat nearly scorched his feet but he was too nervous to notice. He set the things he was carrying and grabbed the towel. He unravvled it and took the second towel that was inside of it and layed it down on the sand. He rolled his up and set it down ontop of it. He then set the food ontop of it. He then stood straight up and looked at the girl. I hope you don't mind If we set up here ana~ The stuff was getting pretty heavy." Kasem looked at the girl nervously into her eyes.

Maria giggled at Kasem's verbal tick, it was adorable! She hat to bite her tounge to keep from imitating it, Maria didn't want him to think she was making fun of him. "Sure, this is great spot to have a picnic." Maria sat down next to him and put down her bag as well. "My bag is a bit heavy to, some of these fruits can be heavy." Maria took out a orange and handed it to him. " Would you like a naranja?" She asked with a sweet smile "I have other fruits if you don't like it."

Kasem smiled at the girl when she giggled. It truly was cute. When the girl offered him the fruit he stared for a second. He had never had a fruit like that before. It looked delicious and looked as if it could have had a lot of juice welled up inside. Sure he had seen this fruit around the various markets throughout the country. But he never had enough time to actually eat one due to all of his long boring meetings. He extended his arm and grasped the orange fruit. He smiled at the girl. "Yes I would love one ana~. To be honest I've never had one but it's always good to try new things is it not?" Kasem continued to smile at the girl. He really thought it was cute how she pronounced the fruit in her language. A lot of things about the girl was cute. Kasem really wanted to make this date as perfect as it could be.

Maria nodded and gave him the orange and smiled back at him. "You never had an orange before?" she looked at him with quizzical look. "They're really common, not like corazons are." She pulled out the before mentioned fruit "Corazons are really tasty, but the inside is an odd mix of gritty and creamy texture...oh and you cant eat the outside, it has a lot of naturally occurring latex..." Maria covered her mouth and blushed a bit, realizing she was rambling on. "S-sorry, I was rambling again..." She glanced to the side, feeling embarassed.

kasem laughed. There really was no need for her to feel embarrassed. "Haha It's alright ana~" Kasem smiled softly at the girl. " I think it is actually nice how informative you are ana~ it shows hat you are very smart ana~." Kasem began to dig his nails into the shell of the orange to peel it. When he was done he discarded the peelings and separated the orange to show it's individual pieces. Kasem's eyes lit up now that he understood what he was suppose to do. He took an individual slice and bit into it. he chewed and swallowed and his smile became larger. "Wow that is really good ana~! " Kasem then got an idea. "Hmmm since we are trying new foods ana~ I would lie it if you would try some of the food I Prepared ana~" Kasem kneeled down and opened his bag. He pulled out a tray of Pad Thai which was a pasta type food and opened it. He then got a small plate and put some of the noodles on it and offered it to the girl. "If you do not like it is fine but i am sure it will taste good ana~" Kasem smiled wider at the girl.

"That's great!" Maria was happy he enjoyed the fruit, and that he wasn't bothered by her ramblings. "And sure I'll try some." She took the food he offered, it reminded her of her cousin Romano's cooking. "do you have chop sticks? I never used them before...b-but I always wanted to learn how to.." Maria looked at him "Y-y maybe I can show you the pork highway later. They have the best roast pig in the world there!"

Kasem smiled at the girl and chuckled when she had asked for chopsticks. "I am sorry ana but I actually did not bring my chopsticks with me. I was thinking that since you are a westerner that you'd want to use a fork," Kasem's smile dissapeared for a bit. He didn't like that he wasn't prepared. Well it's not like he couldn't teach her how to use chopsticks later. His smile returned as he dug in his bag to get Maria a fork. "Here you go ana~ I'm sorry I don't have chopsticks like you want. But I'd be very happy to teach you sometime ana~. "Thailand smiled and gave Maria the fork. He was a bit confused about what a Pork Highway was. Was it a highway made of pork? He couldn't believe that countries would waste food like that. He thought about the Idea of a literal Pork Highway and chuckled to himself at the ridiculousness of the idea. He smiled at Maria. "Yes that sounds delicious ana~ I would like that a lot." Kasem watched Maria waiting for her to eat the food. He really wanted to know if she liked it or not. The suspense was maddening.

Maria nodded and thanked him for the fork. "That's sounds good, thanks Kasem~" She was tempted to give him a peck on the cheek, but decided it might be too soon for that. Maria took the fork and stock it into the noodles and twirrled the fork to pick up the noodles. "It look delicious." She lifted the fork to her mouth an took her first bite of the dish. It truly was delicious. "Mmmm" She smiled and savored the taste before swallowing, Maria looked at Kasem and said "Es delicioso Kasem! What's it called?"

Kasem's eyes lit up at the fact that Maria liked his cooking. He smiled softly and placed his hands into the pockets of his Trunks. "Oh thank you ana~ I hoped you'd like it!. It is called Pad Thai ana~" Kasem was so excited that she liked it that he wanted to kiss her. Well not on the lips but like on the hjand like Francis does. If Kasem learned anything from Mr, Bonnefoy living next to him it was that women loved to be kissed on the hand often. Kasem thought about how he would go about it, but sood decided that he didn't want to just yet. He didn't want things to be awkward. Kasem smiled "When you are done would you like to go swimming ana~?" Kasem was beginning to bake in the heat. He felt like he had darkened twelve shades since they had been out there. Not that heat was a problem for him. having been in his capital in the summer regularly really trained him on how to deal with extreme heat. "The water looks so nice today and there aren't too many waves"

Maria nodded "Are you going to eat to? I don't want to leave you starving or something." She motion to both bags they brought with them "You can help yourself to my fruit if you like." Maria swallowed and looked for a bottle off water when he mentioned the heat. "Well I brought some water if you need a drink. Although you can go in the ocean now if you like, I don't mind at all." She gave Kasem a reassuring smile "After all getting over heated isn't good for you."

kasem wondered at what kinds of fruit Maria had in her bag. The orange was amazing so he wondered what else she had. If you do not wish to swim now we do not have to ana~" Kasem took it upon himself to look in her bag to pull out yet another tasty looking fruit. It was like the orange but smaller. He peeled it and sat down. " Besides all of this fruit you brought with you look very good ana~ I want to try them all they're so yummy!" kasem bit into the smaller orange fruit. It was soo much sweeter and tangier than the other one. "Besis\des there are so any things to do aw well ana!"Kasem continued to eat
